Systems Engineers | DevSecOps Focus

Lucd Systems Engineers have these key responsibilities:

  • Building, supporting and monitoring our growing technology infrastructure

  • Engineering, deploying, operating and sustaining our product

  • Building, documenting and operationalizing key processes and systems supporting our company’s growth

Skills Requirements

Junior (Level 1)

A successful junior candidate will have a fundamental understanding with proven student or job experience in the skills areas listed in the Journeyman, Intermediate or Senior levels.

Journeyman (Level 2)

A successful journeyman or senior level candidate will have a combination of:

  • Strong Linux system administration (sysadmin) skills

  • A working knowledge in management of cloud (AWS desirable) and/or bare metal infrastructure resources

  • Work experience in using the agile process for development

  • Familiarity with one or more CI/CD tool sets

  • Process and procedure documentation experience

Senior (Level 3)

  • Proven experience in multiple Journeyman skill domains with fundamental understanding of one or more of the skills noted in the SME list.

Subject Matter Expert (Level 4)

A successful SME level candidate will have deep engineering / administration experience in one or more of the following areas in addition to a strong foundation in the above areas:

  • Containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)

  • Change management technologies (Chef, Salt, Puppet, Ansible, SCCM)

  • Deployment technologies (PXE, Terraform)

  • Scripting / automation (Python, Shell, Bash, Powershell) with API experience

  • ELK stack engineering, operational and/or solution development experience

  • Authentication & authorization services (CAS, Keycloak, MFA)

  • Specific experience with engineering and application support of components of Lucd’s technology stack is highly desirable

  • Proven troubleshooting and debugging skills in large scale distributed systems (big data) in heterogenous technology environments

Daily Activities

It is the responsibility of Lucd Systems Engineers address the dynamic needs of both internal users / developers and external customers / partners:

  • Baseline engineering and sustainment of Lucd product and deployed builds in IA/Compliance oriented environments

  • Engineering, deployment, monitoring, operation and administration of Lucd builds in the cloud and on premise

  • Service desk, support and training

  • Operations and management of deployment of new builds using our CI/CD tool set

  • Documentation then automation of manual processes to streamline key activities

  • and other duties as assigned
